Is there a way to find out why military jets are flying over your city?
I've been hearing a lot of military jets flying over Long Beach. It's not unusual really, but it doesn't happen all the time. I was just wondering if there's a way to find out when the Airforce runs their tests or whatever they do when they fly jets around. I swear it happened after Osama was killed. I may just be paranoid a bit, but maybe they are preparing for something big? So yes.. can I find out their schedules, or why they are flying over here?
I'm sure you know that the Boeing C-17 is made in Long Beach, right? The United Arab Emirates just took delivery last week of the first of 6 C-17's that they ordered. There were speeches by politicians and flyovers.
Occasionally B-1 bombers come into Long Beach Airport for repairs at the Boeing factory there. They take off in pairs and by the time you hear them they are long gone.
The Joint Forces Training base in Los Alamitos has had repair work done to their runway and the pilots having been using the Long Beach Airport and John Wayne Airport until it's fixed. Air Force One couldn't land there because the runway is in such bad shape.
